Old-fashioned Soft Molasses Cookies

Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened

1/2 cup shortening

1 1/2 cups sugar

1/2 cup molasses

2 eggs, lightly beaten

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. salt

2 1/4 tsp. baking soda

2 1/4 tsp. ground ginger

1 1/2 tsp. ground cloves

1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

Directions

Cream together butter, shortening and sugar until fluffy. Beat in molasses and eggs. Combine dry ingredients, then add to creamed mixture. Roll into 1 1/2 inch balls. Dip tops into sugar. Bake at 350°F for 11 minutes.
